Game Meeting
2008-02-24
We'll be meeting to work on the game project. This could include design / planning or actual coding or both. I'd prefer to see both but we'll see what happens. Hopefully we get some good work done and have some fun. Follow-up: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What happened was that Phylicia and Justin showed up and installed SDL and SDL_image, etc. that are required to get started with what we have so far. Mr. Tuinstra installed the required libraries to the Linux machines in the lab which is cool but unfortunately, it seems to run too slow for most of the programs I have which surprises me since they are small. I'm sure there's a way to fix my programs to work but it remains that a few work significantly better on what I consider pretty old hardware and yet they don't seem to work in the lab. Oh well. So Phylicia got started looking at the code and got started understanding SDL and how it works. Justin looked a little but left before really diving into the code at all. Phylicia and I made a simple menu together. This was a nice example of color keying since we used images for the menu items so a transparent color key was used to mark what shouldn't be shown. It would be nice for others to be involved. It's not an issue as long as it turns out well but there's an opportunity to be part of something cool that should be grabbed by anyone interested.

ACM Website Creation
2007-09-18
Some of us met to develop this website. We met at 7:30 and lost people until almost 9:00 when Danny and I finally got some tabs to light up. I had done Javascript before but didn't remember enough offhand so I had to refer to documentation constantly. Then on Wednesday night, I made some improvements and set up an events page. Then a couple weeks later, it was redesigned with databases in mind.
